Forming a team for the RJSTL:
To form a Kanwaha team for the RJSTL, Kanawha needs volunteers to be a” Team Parent/Captain” for each team. There are (4) possible teams: Intermediate Boys (IB); Bantam Boys (BB); Intermediate Girls (IG); and Bantam Girls (BG).
Team Parent/Captain Responsibilities:
The “team parent” is responsible to help recruit the players for the team with the help from the tennis pro and tennis board members in order to register the team in the league by a date provided by the RJSTL for each season: Fall, Spring & Summer.
During the season the “team parent/captain” will have these responsibilities:
- Contacting the Opposing team’s’ “team captain” to set how many players will play in a match per week.
- Scheduling the Kanawha players to play in each match.
- Assigning a team player/parent to be responsible to bring drinks and snacks for each “home” match for all players.
- Preparing the “score sheet” for each match with the line-up of players listed.
- Setting the line-ups for each team for each match.
- Providing the balls for the “home” matches.
- Recording the outcomes of the challenge matches between team players and updating the “tennis ladder” for the team. KRA will supply the “tennis ladder rules” to each team parent/captain to distribute to the players of the teams.
Contact: Matt Magner if you are interested in helping with a junior team.
